What’s The Story?

In 1978 Kiss was at the height of their dominance. They could do no wrong, that is until they released Phantom of the Park. The band was imploding from within. The record label and management thought the way to keep the band happy and bring them closer together was to let them all do solo albums. It was a can’t lose situation? Um, sure we’ll go with that. They each did their solo record and on September 18, 1978 they all released them at the same time. We get into Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, & Peter Criss’s attempt at showing each other who the most important part of Kiss really was in ’78.

  1. Listened to all 4. My rank: Hollywood, Dylan/BC, Steven, Steven/BB. All were good though. Hope you guys do more stuff like this.

    1. Thanks for listening. Appreciate the feedback. This took a lot of coordination between both shows so I am glad you enjoyed it.

  2. Interesting idea. I can’t decide whether I like Steven or Hollywood’s the best after listening to all 4 episodes. Dylan and BC did a good job too. Honestly, the other 2 guys struggled a bit (just my opinion, nothing personal). Steven and Sonny seriously need to consider doing solo episodes more often. They are shorter and actually better, AND a welcomed change every once in a while.

    1. Hey Thanks for listening. We hear you on the solo episode thing and don’t worry it’s coming. Holly wood will still do his Wild Hair and Steven will have his Metal Mix Tapes. Again thanks for your feedback.
