In this weeks “When Rock Ruled The Charts” series, we take a look at February 28th 1996, the day Kiss visits the Grammys and shocks the world by putting the makeup back on.
As we do with all “When Rock Ruled The Charts” episodes, we will look at a specific time in music history, and look closely at the music charts to see how rock music played a part during that period of time.
The original members of Kiss had not wore their makeup since the early 80s. The had not even stood on stage together since the Dynasty tour. On February 28th 1996, in front of the entire world watching the Grammys they came on stage with rapper Tupac and made the Kiss Army giddy all over the world.
