In this special Desert Island Album episode, we hangout with Vixen’s shredding guitarist Britt Lightning. We talk with Britt about her history and get into sharing our three separate and very different Desert Island Albums.
Britt’s Bio
Brittany Denaro (born February 2, 1985), best known as Britt Lightning, is the lead guitarist for the band Vixen. From 2004 to 2011, Lightning performed in Jaded, an all-female hard rock based out of Boston. The band released two albums, the latter including tracks produced by legendary producer Gary Katz (Steely Dan). In 2017, Lightning replaced Gina Stile as the guitarist in the all-female American rock band Vixen, the only all-female hard rock band from the 1980s to sell over one million albums, have six number one videos on MTV and enter four songs on Billboard‘s Top 100.

I’ve never been much of a Vixen fan but in listening to Britt I’ll at least try them again. What a great interview? Whomever is coming up with the questions is doing a great job. You guys always do a good job of doing something unique.
Thanks for listening. We both do our best to come up with questions that a a little different than some interviews. We make it a point to make it a conversation rather than a interview. Glad you enjoy. It’s ok if Vixen is not your thing as long as you enjoy the people and conversation, but if it leads to you also digging some of the music than that is awesome also.
Miss Brittney is underrated. She’s not only technically very sound, she’s a perfect blend of aggressive and elegant. In many ways, she reminds me of a young Chris DeGarmo. She deserves more attention. I hope she gets it
Thanks for listening. That’s a great take and on her talent I’m sure she would appreciate hearing this.
