Ty Tabor From King’s X – BONUS

Episode Description

We catch up with guitarist Ty Tabor from King’s X to discuss the 2019 Monsters Of Rock Cruise and some of his personal Growin’ Up Rock story. We talk about how the band decides on a set list, the possibilities of a new King’s X record, and what he remembers about the Woodstock 2 festival that put them in front of 350,000 people.

A Brief Band Overview

King’s X is a band that was formed in the mid 80s that garnered a ton of critical acclaim from the critics and the band’s peers. They were a great mixture of hard rock, melody, harmonies, funk, R&B, and soul. Yep – They had a lot to offer. Maybe some people did not know how to take them, and maybe the record companies did not know how to market them, but for whatever reason they never achieved some of the massive success their peers received in the 80s.

The band is still going strong and doing better than ever before, and I absolutely love and respect them. Check out our conversation with guitarist, singer, songwriter Ty Tabor.

    1. Such a underrated record. Love The Train. Also Love Run. Killer album. Thanks For Listening.

  1. I was at the Kings X show at the Roxy on the night of the legendary impromptu acoustic show. Greatest show I’ve ever seen. Period.

  2. i’m wondering why King’s X (according to Ty) is doing better now than ever? Can anyone give insight into this. It’s great to hear, but I don’t get ‘how’.

    1. Hey Jeff, I think what Ty meant by that, is that now they basically run their own careers without interference from record labels, management, booking agents, etc. The tour on the weekends, record solo projects, and do what they want with King’s X. hence they are happier and doing better now.
