Trixter Interview w/Mark Gus Scott – EP021

Trixter was a young band from New Jersey that exploded onto the hard rock scene in 1990 with the hits, “Give It To Me Good” and “One In A Million,”  just before the bottom gave out from Rock to grunge around ’92. Charismatic drummer Mark Gus Scott has been there from the beginning to see it all happen.

Episode Description

We jumped on the phone with Mark for a long and entertaining conversation. He talked about the early days of Trixter, including some of the killer tours they have been a part of, including Kiss, Scorpions, and the now infamous Blood, Sweat, & Beers tour with Warrant and Firehouse.

Mark shared some stories and memories involving firearms, fireworks, and alcohol, along with a double-size helping of rock n roll.

Mark’s not just your average drummer pounding the skins with little or no musical inclination other than smashing the shit out of cymbals. While still a high school trumpet player, Mark was awarded a special citation to attend the University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music over the summers and study music, which he puts to great use in the release of a new and traditional holiday EP called “Christmas Miracle.” The first single is Mark’s rendition of the classic “Ave Maria,” and he will be giving 100% of the proceeds of the sale of the single to the worthy charity “Hope 4 Kids International” which focuses on serving children living in impoverished environments around the world.

You can support the cause by picking up the EP for the holidays and sharing with friends and family.
