What is a Power Ballad? Who’s to say if it’s a power ballad or not? We are of course. This debate started between Sonny and me over the Dokken song “Heaven Sent” and continued with various other friends and followers of the show regarding various songs. The varying opinions are all over the map regarding this subject, so we thought it would be fun to bring on a special guest to help us wade though all the thoughts regarding this subject.
We invited fellow podcaster and host of the Hook Rocks podcast Jay Scott to tell us his opinions on what defines a power ballad and whether the list we took from listeners qualifies as power ballads or not.
